Friday, Feb. 5 – First Friday Art Walk, 5pm – 9pm. Come out and enjoy St. Augustine’s most interactive cultural event, exploring the many art galleries in St. Augustine’s Historic District.  Experience a night of new art exhibits, music and entertainment. Enjoy a glass of wine or tasty munchies, meet the artists and find some great bargains on original art created by some of the areas’ most talented local artists.

Friday – Sunday, Feb. 5-7 Birds of a Feather Fest Enjoy a weekend of birding, photography, workshops, presentations, social events and family activities at this birding and nature festival. This weekend long event takes place at Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Parkway NE and various venues throughout the city.  Many activities are free; some for a fee. Saturday, Feb. 6 – Mardi Gras Ball Dinner Dance Ladies Auxiliary of Palm Coast Elks Lodge #2709, 53 Old Kings Rd invites you to a MARDI GRAS BALL dinner dance. Cocktails at 6pm. Thursday, Feb. 11 – Little Picassos  Two and three year old artists will discover their inner ‘Picasso’ as they discover their own unique style from 10-11am at the Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Pkwy NE. Children will learn fundamental concepts and will have fun creating works of art. Friday, Feb. 12 – Heartsaver CPR/AED This popular course is a four-hour class teaching basic CPR and AED skills. Students practice skills such as giving CPR to children and adults; using an Automated External Defibrillator; preventing choking. From 9am-1pm at Palm Coast Fire Station 25, 1250 Belle Terre Pkwy.  Fees are $5/person, with pre-registration required by 9 a.m. Feb. 10. Saturday, Feb. 13 – Flight to Freedom at Fort Mose Fort Mose’s Flight to Freedom recreates the 17th century experience of the hundreds of slaves who traveled to Fort Mose in search of freedom. Saturday, Feb. 13 – EMMA Concert Performance: Hollywood Concert Orchestra EMMA Concert Association presents the widely popular Hollywood Concert Orchestra at 7:30pm at the Flagler College’s Lewis Auditorium.  The Orchestra, an ensemble of America’s finest musicians, has become one of the premier ensembles in the world.  With its unique presentation of the latest TV, movie, and Broadway themes written and arranged especially for the orchestra, the Hollywood Concert Orchestra is known as “the Orchestra of the Stars,” featuring the best and brightest guest artists and soloists in lively and entertaining performances.   Tickets are $40 ($5 for students) and may be purchased in advance on the website.  14 Granada St., St. Augustine. 904-797-2800 www.emmaconcerts.com.

Saturday, Feb. 13 – The 6th Annual Hot N’ Spicy Festival The Florida Agricultural Museum will hold the 6th Annual Hot N’ Spicy Festival from 11am – 4:30pm at the museum facility, located at 7900 Old Kings Road North in Palm Coast. The one-day event features spicy foods from area restaurants and retailers along with live music. Johnny Matanzas & The Hombres will open the show at 11am followed by the Wild Shiners from 1:30 to 4:30pm. Admission is $5 per person, with proceeds helping to support museum programs and Feed Flagler. The gates open to the public at 10am.

Wednesday, Feb. 17 – Marineland River-to-Sea Trail Walk Go on a guided trail walk at the River-to-Sea Preserve and travel through ancient Florida coastal woodlands to learn how Native Americans once thrived there on nature’s bounty. Discover indigenous plants bordering the trail to the Matanzas River. The walk will be from 9 – 10:30am from the River-to-Sea parking lot across from the ocean near the GTM Research Reserve Marineland Field Office. Tour is free, but reservations are required. 9741 N. Friday, Feb. 19 – All American Air Youth Table Tennis Championship Enjoy competitive table tennis for ages 10 – 17 at this charitable event benefiting Habitat for Humanity and Home Again St. Johns.  Registration is $25 ($30 after January 17).  Each player entry includes ONE parent ticket to event.  No drop off allowed.  Parent must stay with student the entire time of the Table Tennis event.  Additional spectator tickets are $5 in advance ($10 at the door).   It all takes place at the beautiful River House.  179 Marine St., St. Augustine.  904-669-0763  www.aaacharitablefoundation.org

Saturday, Feb. 20 – St. Augustine YMCA Mardi Gras Beach Run Enjoy a one-mile Fun Run along the beach or get serious in a 5K from the St. Augustine Beach Pier into Anastasia State Park and back. This seaside event supports local YMCA programs including swim lessons and a summer camp for kids. The race begins at noon from the pier. Registration is $30 for the 5K and $20 for the fun run. Saturday, Feb. 20 – 5th Annual Wrigley Ride Velo Fest The 5th Annual Wrigley Ride for bicyclists starts at 9am ( 7am check-in) from Sykes and Cooper Farms in Elkton. This is a fully supported ride with SAG and rest stops every 10-15 miles. Local music, food and friendship await at the end of the ride. Riders choose 100k, 50k or 25k courses. Registration, including commemorative jersey and Velofest membership, is $125 for the 100k and 50k; $115 for the 25k. Registration only is $55 for the 100k, 50k and 25k (after Feb. 13, add $5). All proceeds go to the Velo Fest Community Initiative to create awareness between cyclists and non-cyclists for mutually beneficial roads and to the Bryan B. Monday, Feb. 22 – Sunset/Moonrise at St. Augustine Lighthouse Enjoy the magic viewing the sunset and moonrise from the most unique perspective of all, the St. Augustine Lighthouse! This special event includes a champagne toast atop the tower and an informative overview of the history of the Light Station. Admission is $30, $25 for members. Monday, Feb. 22 – Chinese Auction The Ladies Auxiliary of Palm Coast Elks Lodge #2709 is sponsoring a Chinese Auction on Monday, February 22nd. Doors will open at 4:30pm.  The Auction will start at 6:30pm.  A ticket donation of $7 can be purchased at the Lodge beforehand from 9am to 12pm Monday thru Friday.  Tickets may also be purchased at the door the day of the auction. Feb. 26-28 – 31st Annual Cathedral Festival One of the area’s largest festivals features midway rides, games, bingo, a silent auction, mouthwatering food, beverages, a fireworks show and favorite local bands playing each day.  The festival takes place at the Mission of Nombre de Dios, 101 San Marco Avenue from 5-10:30pm on Friday, noon to 10:30pm on Saturday, and noon to 9pm on Sunday.  Fireworks go off Saturday night at 9pm. Saturday, Feb. 27 – 23rd Annual RSVP Chocolate and Beyond Savor a parade of chocolate delicacies from many of the area’s finest restaurants and specialty shops at this annual event hosted by the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of St. Johns County.  The event is from 2 – 4pm at the First Coast Technical College. Mar. 4-6 – 35th St. Augustine Lions Seafood Festival Enjoy outstanding seafood, live music, more than 100 arts and crafts exhibitors…and much more!  Friday night is jazz night, American music is featured Saturday and Sunday.  Families will enjoy kiddie rides, magic, pirate fun, belly dancers, raiders, youth performers and character actors.  Presented by Winn-Dixie, the festival features tons of fresh seafood!  Admission TBA at later date.  Proceeds benefit charitable activities of the St. Augustine Lions Foundation.  The festival takes place at Francis Field.  Hours are Friday 3-9pm;  Saturday 10am-9pm; Sunday 11am – 5pm (Arts and Crafts Village closes at sundown). VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – The St. Augustine Historical Society Research Library is looking for volunteers with computer experience to help archive their photo collection. Volunteers scan and document the images so they can be added to the online catalog. Other computer related projects are available as well.
